Sanctimoniously performing soliloquys. On your moral high horse talking down at me.(roughly) i honestly love when Taylor has fun with her wordplay like this, i like word salads that feel like tongue twisters in your mouth. the "I don't know half of you half as well as i should like; and i like less than half as of you half as well as you deserve" that cause you to stop for a second and run it over your teeth. when you read comics with dialogue by Stan lee you'll notice he was good friends with the thesaurus as well and part of that was because a) he liked sounding smart, Stan had a lot of good qualities but one of them wasn't humility. and b he didn't believe in talking down to his audience, he wanted to encourage kids to open up a dictionary and expand their vocabulary. and while i do agree Taylor enjoys her word salads and poetic vagueness a lot it never takes up a whole song to the point of being unintelligible. A lot of her lyrics are plain as day, easily filling in the gaps any *extra* lyrics may present. "I'd rather burn my whole life down than cater to all these vipers wearing empaths closing" and "God saves the most judgmental creeps who say they want what's best for me" make it quiet clear what ever "Sanctimoniously performing soliloquies" has no positive connotations to it. Note; I understand everyone has their own personal preferences, I'm just sharing myown.

This was SO FUN to watch! It was like a mix of The Office with Pitch Perfect, they are amazing, having fun being silly and singing together, their energy is great and the editing of the doc as well! Watching the rehearsals, getting to know them, random moments choosen and the comments made through it that kept on the final piece, everything was on point. Literally sparkled up my day, keep the good job!!!

This was really interesting! You completely captured the low-pressure environment they talk about having in the group. Casual, fun but disciplined. I personally don’t know about how u say ur just gonna eat it up if Taylor swift drops whatever. Why do people keep saying shit like that? I thought u don’t have to like the music just because Taylor wrote it. I find it disappointing that this is a common theme in a lot of music reviews regarding ttpd. I just want to have thoughtful discussions regarding Taylor’s music but god it’s impossible when ppl throw “oh it’s taylor’s music so I’m gonna eat it up” at me. I don’t understand how that works. And clearly you didn’t enjoy the album as much as u thought you would so I feel like in general that’s not a good mindset to have before getting into an album. I really thought it was a grower. But i cant. Its too boring. Taylor must have drained Jack with the short amount time she gave him to produce this amount of tracks. Im listening to many reviews of ttpd just to see maybe i missed something or someone made a better tracklist of the album. Its just that meh. Dare i say Reputation could be better than TTPD. Taylor has always had witty lyrics but it was off with TTPD, like she took her own jokes seriously ir maybe Jack did. I still honestly think that Taylor should have just waited for Jack to really work on the songs and divided the album between the real album and swifites only album. She could have just released a free album just for the swifties thats full of easter eggs just as a thank you for sticking with her after the tought year shes had. She looks greedy as hell for selling such meh albums using the kpop strategy of using bonus tracks to force fans to buy multiple albums.

I wasn’t into it at first, but after a few listens… wow, it turned into my favorite album of hers. It just keeps getting better. I’d even say this album aged like fine wine.

I really do kinda feel the same way abt this album. Like I'm not crazy into it but I don't hate it at all. Some songs I absolutely love, but I don't find myself going thru the album a lot and just putting it on. BUTTTTT I really do love the anthology bc it felt more natural if that makes sense...? It didn't feel like she was trying hard to make it, it seemed to be effortless in my opinion. But I'm also an evermore girly soooo lol. I'm excited to see ur thoughts on it! Love ur vids as always ❤

Well you didn’t end up getting an eating box reference on this album but Taylor does reference “going solo” in Guilty As Sin if you know what I mean (see: chorus before the bridge) 🤭

YOOOOOO UR BACKKK IVE BEEN MISSING U AND UR FUNNY ASS JOKES :DD honestly i dont blame u or anyone for the mixed feelings of this album, it is kinda interesting and goofy sometimes. its definitely a grower i will say that. on my first listen, i was kinda just trying to process everything, which can sometimes be rlly hard. especially for me lollll. going back and relistening to some songs and then eventually the full album, HOLY SHIT. IT FUCKING HIT LIKE BULLETS BRO. everything just feels sm more sadder and darker than i originally thought?? and both this album and the anthology have hit rlly hard for me, bc ive been going thru hard shit for a good while now. both these albums kinda just like, gets it yk??? and it took me a good while to just realize that- but yea i have a much brighter view of this album now and i actually REALLY LOVE this album this definitely seems like one of taylor's most personal albums, and the additional silly lines or parts make it kinda feel like that even more? i dont rlly know how to explain lollll but sometimes i do like them! (idk abt the charlie puth line tho cuz girl we all know damn well hes fine the way he is...) yea enough yapping from me now- great to see u back :D

G'day. Before I talk, I'd like to say that I'm neither here to influence others opinions, nor am I a die hard fan of his music...well, at least not yet. The first time I had heard about the weeknd's music was in 2015, when the Hills played on the radio. Back then I was 6 and didn't know any artists. Then, in 2022, save your tears and blinding lights played on the radio. For the first time I got real curious about his music and listened to after hours, which lead me to 103.5 Dawn FM. Finally, a month ago, I listened to all of the mainline albums n' mixtapes he has produced over the course of over 12 years. Currently, I'm on my second run. Would've already done more runs if Dawn FM wouldn't have chained me for 2 weeks straight. If I had to rank his albums, I simply could not, but Kiss Land is definetly at least on A tear.

I don't think TTDP has any real bangers, it has some banger parts the end of smallest man who ever lived for example. The album as a whole is good but it's not Taylor Swift good if that makes sense, I think that's why it hasn't had the best reception because it's not the usual Taylor swift a couple pop bangers for the charts and the rest amazing songs for everyone that really listens to them. Overall I like it it's not my least favorite TS album but it's not in the top 3 either.

The second half of this album is sooo much better. Although So Long, London might be my favorite song on the album, the second half saves this project, imo. Like can you imagine if this was all she released? I'd be so underwhelmed hahaha

Like wtf taylor you know how to write why you disappointing us. I get that the “queen of sandcastles” line might be a little corny to some, but to me, it’s such a creative way of writing something really heartbreaking. Like, a sandcastle is something that you have to build up, put effort into making and spend time on. But if she’s the queen of the sandcastles he destroys, she’s basically saying that he would build her up and make her happy only to later on “destroy” her or in this case leave her when he couldn’t deal with her. This also ties into Down Bad where she says “tell me I was the chosen one, then sent me back where I came from”. So I think the line kinda sets the tone for one of the main issues in the relationship and why it was even harder for her when it ended. But this is of course just my take:)

I dont think its necessarily AOTY but its definitely one of my favorites!!!
